The database contains records and information about registered securities employees including employment history, licensing status, the firms that employ them, and any disciplinary actions taken against them. You can access some of the information about a broker’s regulatory background and registration in the database free of charge through NASD’s BrokerCheck service at www.nasd.com. You can generally obtain even more extensive information from the CRD through your state’s securities regulator.
