Technology / Computers / Heat Sink: A component designed to lower the temperature of an electronic device by dissipating heat into the surrounding air. All modern CPUs require a heat sink. Some also require a fan. A heat sink without a fan is called a passive heat sink; a heat sink with a fan is called an active heat sink. Heat sinks are generally made of a zinc alloy and often have fins.

Science / Chemistry / Molar Heat Capacity: The heat required to raise the temperature of one mole of a substance by 1°C is called the molar heat capacity of the substance. Molar heat capacity is an intensive property with SI system units of J MORE
Science / Chemistry / Latent Heat: Heat that is absorbed without causing a rise in temperature. For example, 'latent heat of vaporization' refers to the amount of heat required to convert a liquid to vapor at a particular temperature. MORE
